I am currently waiting for the engineer to arrive as the picture quality seems to be very poor - On dark images, the screens flashes lots of red dots and then lots of white 'interference' kind of dots - only on dark images I stress. I've tried all setting, unplugged Sky, however the pic quality on all sources is poor and I am hoping it is a fault - if it's not, then it's going back to Currys and I'll get something else.

Very pleased with mine after 3 weeks of having it.

DEFINTILEY improves with age though. When I first plugged the Freeview box in I was horrified with the PQ!

But after connecting my Samsung 950 DVD player via the HDMI connection and the Xbox and PS2 via component my fears were laid to rest.

Just get the picture off the dynamic setting and get those contrast/brightness settings right down to around 10 - you'll see an immediate improvement.

Then after a week or two you should start to see the picture settle down nicely.

    Hello,

Could you tell me what your settings are for contrast and brightness? Are they both on 10? I have an 7200 model wich has both settings on +1.

Have been running mine for about 5 days. DVD's still look very good. Sky less so, some channels better than others but on baddish ones, there can be a bit of smearing. Am running it via an IXOS scart with RGB activated so it may just be summit I will need to live with (until SKY HD comes along perhaps). Who wants to watch Sky travel anyway................

Having to "input" scroll between DVD and Sky is a pain, and the sound I find pretty poor. DVD;s need to be really ramped up and mucking about with settings and equalizer doesn't seem to imrpove it much, so I need to persevere with the old surround sound system.

However................am still very pleased with it, it looks good and for the money, is very very good.

Type "7200 picture settings" in the search box :smashin:

6600 settings will not apply to the 7200.

have had two 6600,s delivered both had the same problem, which was that the sets emit a hissing noise from the speakers even when muted. This was my first plasma and i must say that i was very disapointed with the picture quality on both sets, but probably would have lived with it, i couldnt however put up with the hissing noise for the next 10 years or so.
Finally recieved a refund from currys today, so am currently looking for a good deal on a pioneer.

Hissing from both speakers even though sound is turned right down
have asked Hitachidigitalmediavai email to confirm if this is normal
The have asked me to phone them

Watching dark or night scene background either from DVD, Sky+ or aerial
connection part of screen on the RHS aapears less darker then rest of screen & is very noticeable to the eye Whiter area is vertical stripe in shape

Motion blur in general makes for poor viewing especially Sky Sports footie

TV with Mastercare (the second time now -nearl a month stillno sign of it's
return) They had it for nearly 3 weeks before that due to faults mentioned
Feedback from MC is that TV meets specification! Hiising sound is then
normal? Have to live with the motion blur (making for poor viewing) &
a man & his dog can see the whiter contrast area during dark backgound
    picture?

Have asked Currys to allow me to exchange set or too upgrade too another set
but the won't do this on MC's advice

Please can anyone help me with this? Lost confidence in this 6600 plasma

Shouldn't have bought it from Currys.
Get in contact with Currys' headoffice and quote their tv adverts.

The tv adverts all seem nice, friendly and modern but the staff in their shops appear to be the complete opposite.
