please help. Had mind made up on philips lcd as this seems to be everyones favorite. Then im being told buy a pioneer plasma.

well i just came back from my local showroom and feel visually the best looking TV was the Hitachi Plasma, cheaper than the pioneer looked to show a better image in the showroom, both TV were using the same feed.

Im looking for pros & cons for the Hitachi against the philips please.

Look at the Hitachi web site. It shows the model as only having 1 scart socket. I have a 32pf9986 and am very pleased with it. I didn't even look at plasma as an option when looking for a new set. In my opinion the only thing better about the hitachi is it's size. I am more than happy with the 32" philips. The only thing it does not have is a dedicated component connection, but you can connect to the DVI using the supplied adaptor. The philips is a better looking set and with the ambilight it is just superb.
