Just orded a Hitachi 42PD5200 from The Flat TV Company for £2268 inc delivery. My Hitachi 32PD3000 is now in the classifieds. ;)
I am having to re-think my connectivity situation as at present I going through the media box using scart for sky, component for dvd and scart for xbox. Longer scarts seem more expensive so I am looking into hooking my Sky+ box and Xbox up via S-video. Is S-video better, worse or same as scart?

Scart leads support a number of format, including composite, s-video and RGB plus non standard component sometimes. Supporter formats can differ between inputs, ie, RGB may only be supported on one of the scarts. You will need to check what mode you are running in - normally as configured in the output device. But in general : lower quality <- composite / s-video / RGB -> better quality.
