There was one in Currys in Carmarthen yesterday. Popped in to buy a razor, and there it stood. Will they not phone around the branches? Or sell you an ex demo one? Check for screen burn mind you!

Madman, I was referring to the possibility of ex demo screens here, not jumping on Hitachi, just for a change. Any ex demo screeen would need careful checking.

    Hi All,

apparently this has a motorised rotating screen, controlled remotely - how's that for the Dogs proverbials!!!!!

I think it is still ALIS although touted as "HD Ready"???

    Cheers

Comet do this for £1995 (or £1968 on the web). Get John Lewis to price match and get a free 5-year warranty.

the LCD range of the 7200's does 720p@50Hz had a email from Hitachi about it when enquiring about the 28LD5200 so I think the plasma range will aswell.

Hitachi are already miffed at being caught out by SKY so I cant see this as being true. Where did you read/hear it wont do 720p50

It will have to be a darn site cheaper in the retailers to persuade folks from buying the new Panasonic 500 series.

Still nothing useful on Hitachi's web site. It does have HDMI and DVI with HDCP, 2 HDCP inputs is helpful.

Seems the 42PD7500 will only have an analogue tuner...

I'm no expert, but as far as I can tell, the only difference between it & the 7200 appear to be looks..?

Can someone prove me wrong...? - Seems stupid that they're not both available now if it is true!

Although the Hitachi website doesn't mention it, but does anyone know if a 37" PD will be available? Seems to be a gap in the market if they're jumping from 32" to 42"....

    Thats strange!
The person from Hitachi I spoke to at a recent show said that the PD7500 does has a digital tuner.

Having looked at your link : Somewhere near the bottom of the page it has the specs for the digital tuner "IDTV-DVB Integrated". I think the blue squares appear to mean that it does have that option. It's just not very clear!
If you click on "Show Product Features" it states "Built-in Analogue and Digital TV Tuners"
Looks like it has both analog and digital.

DJT75, Hitachi (and most Plasma manufactures I expect) always release the 42" first. It happened with the PD3000 and PD5*00.
With the PD5200 the 32" was next followed by the 37"
I'm sure they'll be along soon.
