    Hi all,

First post, hope it's in the right area!

I'm about to purchase the above, but before I do, I just wanted some advice on Hitachi. I've noticed that they do PD5200 and PD5300 models too but these weren't mentioned by the rep at RS. I initially went in to buy the PIO435XDE but was convinced that the £700 saving was a good move as the Hitachi screens are better..

Any thoughts would be appreciated on the following set up:

    Hitachi 42PD5000 (pro?) - £2199.95
    Yamaha DSPAX750 - £449.95
    Panasonic DMRE85 DVD Recorder - 369.95
    MS Genie speakers - £799.95

    Total - £3819.80

    Thanks in advance.

I'm really keen on learning something about the Hitachi PD5000 and whether it is worth buying...

Is the PD5200 or 300 much better?

    Thanks

the 5200 has a built in tuner card the 5300 uses a media box witch conects to the dvi port on the tv so you cant use this for hdtv

Does that mean that the 5200 can be used for hdtv?

Is the PIO435XDE a much better piece of kit? If so, I'm happy to spend the extra money...

I would like the kit to be as future proof as pos....

    Thanks for the reply!

Well i've just bought a 32PD5200 from RS after checking PQ for £1599. Not the cheapest price but they are going to load it into the car so i know i got it.
    AV sales much more expensive.

    Now watch the price crash!

    Freddy
