Hi, I am still running my hitachi 42 pd7200 on the running in settings suggested on this site since I purchased it in august 2006. While i am happy with the picture quality, I am wondering if i would see an improvement if these settings were adjusted, and would welcome any suggestions to this effect.

My current settings, setup with Avia are:

pic mode Natural
Contrast -7
Brightness +3
Colour -7
Sharpness -7

Everything else is set to off or normal.

Let me know what you think, bearing in mind mine's more than a year older, so those settings may not work for you.

EDIT: That's with the V+ box.

Cheers, I'll give that a try tonight, let you know how it goes

Badger, tried your settings and only marginal difference to what they were already set to and therefore pq no real change. Anyway thanks for info. BTW are you still happy with your Hitachi, I'm more than happy with mine, although I've yet to put anything HD through it yet as i don't think sky HD is worth the money for the time being.

cheers

Yes, still very happy mate :smashin:
It's been totally bombproof, touch wood.
It's an excellent picture with Sd and even better with HD.
I literally can't get enough.
But that's because I'm with cable.
I'm still considering going back to Sky.

It may be worth you getting a copy of Avia or DVE to set it up correctly, but it does sound as though you're not far away anyway.
