Im just about ready to get my first ever plasma tv which has to be HD ready no matter what.I have just under £2000 to spend which will by me either of these Plasma'a which both get good reviews, only problem is which is better the LG 42 RZ PY 10X or the Hitachi 42 PD 7200?.While playing around with the Hitachi in Comets i noticed you can split the screen in half vertically and view two different sources of equal size,eg,watching SKY and playing GAMECUBE.Can you do this on the LG.HELLLPPPP

    Decco Hughes

I looked at the LG, but the input lights at the bottom right are too bright and would do my head in....
Alternatively have you considered the Pio 435, 1999 at Richersounds....

I thought the title was for a joke thread. Go with the Hitachi 100% over the LG.

I have the LG 42PX3RV and it has also twin tuner-yes you can split the picture with any 2 inputs and you can make different size-half-half or big-small etc.... I guess is working the same way on PY10X

    Hello,

The 7200 doesn't have the ability to show two pictures of the same signal.
It is possible to split the screen in two or more parts. Each part will show an differnet AV signal. Therefor it is possible to watch tv and DVD at the sametime.

Yes it does indeed have a motorised stand.

Also - not sure if this is the same on the 7200 but on the 6600 it's not possible to use the PIP/PAP feature when using the HDMI connection.

i.e You can't watch a DVD via HDMI and use PIP/PAP to watch another source.

Well, I was always left underwhelmed whenever I saw the 435. Horses for courses I suppose.

But the Hitachi 7200 has 1024x1024 Panel Resolution (Pixels) where as the 435 Pioneer only has 1024x768. So surely the Hitachi 7200 has better picture quialty?
Reason i'm saying this is that i'm thinking of getting a Hitachi 7200 as well with a month or so.
And it seems to have good connections and great reviews.

It's actually not that simple to compare like for like, I mean how can 1024x1024 be wide-screen if it was the same system...So it is not that simple that it 'surely' has better picture quality....

I must admit that I was underwhelmed at first as well by the Pioneer and we changed our mind and went after the Hitachi 7200...But then I saw the Pioneer properly setup in both Sevenoaks and Richersounds...And it blew me away...It still does at home....

But I would have been happy with the Hitachi as well....The Pio's screen is larger though ;-) And yet the overall dimensions are smaller...

    :)

Yes you're right, but this is a big bone of contention.
Resolution is not as simple as that, processing counts too.
    Do a search for ALIS.
You'll find lots of arguments ;)
The 7200 is a cracker, I have one, and think it's great, along with many others, although others would disagree.
    I'm playing Devil's advocate, here.

I can only say, every LG I've seen, has not impressed me.
    But that's me.
It's no coincidence that the 7200 has won loads of awards.
    Go and see both tellys.
Only you will know which is best :smashin:

I got mine 3 months ago for 2K, extra 2 years guarantee £200.

I believe they may be in short supply, so not a bad deal, maybe.
