I have been advised on this forum that the Hitachi 7200 is HD ready and would be a good buy however Comet are telling me the Hitachi 5200 is also HD ready can anyone advise if this is actually the case as this model is cheaper?

The 7200 looks a good buy, although I'm put off by the speakers at the sides adding considerably to the width. It looks as though the p500 also has side speakers. So I'm looking at the p50 (not sure tohugh how narrower that is). I wonder whetehr there is a reason why HD models have side speakers?

Comet have the 5200 for £1999
I got the 7200 for £1945 delivered on wednesday speakers are removable and has all connections you would want.
picture fantastic screen rotation is silent and very smooth this was my first plasma buy so as yet i have not got a progressive dvd and decent cables but still blows you away
Comet also charges around £30 for delivery the box is very big and unless you have a van this is only option

    Hi all :hiya:

I'm really interested in the Hitachi 42PD7200, is the 5200 better than the 7200?

Has any one got any reviews or is there a better buy for your money like the Panasonic Viera range?

The speakers come in a separate box and you don't have to connect them at all. If you still want to use the speakers but not have them attached to the screen, Hitach supply some stands for them.

Do you have to buy the stands or do they come as standard?

You have to buy them separately. Various places sell them, here is one.

What shop did he get John Lewis to do a price match with?

I've been trying to get them to do a price match with different stores for over a week now and they keep saying no.

I have to ask: Where did he find it at £2000 which JL would accept as a "shop" to price match? There have been a few other threads where there seems to be quite some difference of opnion in terms of what JL will price match and what they will not, hence the question.
