I've been looking for a 60" inch set for a while now and the choice in this size is fairly limited. Hisense has always appealed due to their good reviews and value for money... but they didn't have a 60" in the range. Now I've seen the NEC5600 advertised at AO and Argos at £749 and I'm tempted. However I see no reviews or mention of it on avforums!

Does anyone know anything about this set? Would it be recommended? I'll be using it only for TV viewing via Sky Q - including their 4K content. HDR is useful (which this set has). I realise there are different levels of HDR, but I won't be sitting 1 foot away micro analysing every picture detail!

It would be great to get some opinions from those in the know - you!

Hi Simon - Did you manage to buy the set?
I'm also looking to get a cheap 60" for the kids play room and I've been looking at this set. I can get it for £580.
The reviews I could find seem to say it's a pretty solid telly.

    Hi Ban5hee,

I didn't buy the set - as I was waiting for more information/reviews. I've still got my original set and will buy a new one at some point.

Where did you see it for £580 and where were the reviews - as I still can't find any?

    Thanks,

    Simon

You can get it from currys for £649 and then they offer a further 10% off at checkout.

HISENSE H60NEC5600UK LED 60" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR TV

Once I get home I will find the link to the reviews as it's on my laptop and for the life of me can't find it at work.

I bought one from Amazon and waiting for delivery- for £580 odd I really cannot see better value for money. And buying from Amazon means returns are easy if needed...but fingers crossed it won’t be.

Agree. I bought it from Curry's last night for £580 with free saturday delivery.
If I'm happy with it I will look at the 75" one for the main room.

Make sure you post back here with your thoughts on the new TV when you get it. :)

No Problem will do! Might do a whole unboxing thread with pics. Or I might just be like a kid at christmas and tear the box apart to get to my toy.

I got one of these the other day. Mine had a cloudy patch in the centre of the screen so is being replaced. Only visible when screen is off but the screen itself feels quite loose and wobbly when pressed. Interested to see others feedback on this one.

Who did you buy it from V0X? I'm hope mine is OK out of the box.
Nothing as disappointing as looking forward to a new toy and finding it faulty.

Argos.. in fairness they are sending a replacement no questions asked. I found the colours were a bit off - hopefully down to a faulty screen. It would otherwise be a very nice TV for the price..

There's a ton of good reviews on amazon for the 49" screen.
Since it's basically the same innards I'm hopeful the 60" will perform just as good.

TV got delivered today and the box wasn't as big as I thought it would be.

Opened it up as soon as the delivery man left. Checked it over and it was all good. Was surprisingly light and I managed to get it out of the box and install the two feet on my own.

Plugged in the LAN cable and updated the firmware with no issues. Setup my amazon prime and Netflix. Took about 10 minutes to sort it all out and then started going through normal SKY HD, and 4K material. WOW!

For £580 this tv is stunning. Some pics below.

Mine is coming tomorrow so looking forward to it. How is the upscaling SD and HD pictures ? Is the SD blocky or looks good?

It does a pretty good job of the upscaling. I don't tend to watch any SD material to be honest with you but it looks OK to my eyes.
Better than my previous TV that's for sure. If it keeps impressing me I will definitely be looking into getting a 75" for the main room.

So far I like it but had a bit of drama with the volume going to 100% and couldn’t reduce it. I rest the Sky remote so wondered if that caused it- does anyone know the code for Sky Plus Rev.9 remote? If not, I’ll just use two remotes ( Sky one and Hisense one for volumn) as I thought for a moment I would have to send it back. Seems to have calmed down now after resetting the Sky remote.

Other than that so far so good. Good sound and great picture.

Got mine yesterday morning, really easy to get set up.
Picture looks good to me and the defaults out of the box are not bad at all.
If anybody has any tips though for settings they would be appreciated.
Got the WiFi set up and Netflix etc.. I tried updates and it said it didn't need any, is this normal?
Can't get my Virgin V6 remote to work with it so I guess I'll have to use 2.
All in all very happy so far.

To program your Sky remote control using the 4 digit code
    1. First of all find the make and model number of your tv. This is located at the back of your telly. Be carefull not to disturb any cables. Write this down.
    2. Switch on the TV set
    3. Press the TV button on the Sky Remote
    4. Hold down the Select and Red button for 2-3 seconds until the LED blinks twice
    5. Press the TV button on the Sky Remote again
    6. Find your code here - Codes come up as 1391, 2126 or 1342
    7. Enter the 4 digit code for your make of TV.
    8. The LED should blink twice, if not recheck the 4 digit code used and go back to 1
    9. Press the standby button on the Sky Remote (The TV should go to standby)
    10. Press the Select button to store

I will try these codes but I did try quite a few. When I put the model in it comes back with ”We do not have a match for your TV model. Please check that you have entered the model number correctly.” and offers these three plus others if you click to show all of them. None of these worked but will retry again. To be honest the TV remote is worth keeping ear you anyway due to all the quick picture/sound choices and streaming services.

I watched some 4K via Netflix last night and it looked fantastic and even HD satellite looked brilliant. Love this TV and happy to have bought it.

Yeah having netflix\amazon and youtube on the remote is great. The fact that it's near instantaneous to access is awesome aswell as previously it ran through my xbox 360 and took ages to get up each time.
Now I can flick between the 3 at will with no waiting time.

Currently looking at one of these. Can you screen mirror from a mobile and can you download apps from "unknown sources" ....i.e. Showbox etc. Cheers

Thanks for all the great feedback and comments. Keep them coming.

I'd be interested to know how reflective the screen is. I know most sets can reflect sun quite a lot on the screen and my current 55" LG is quite bad for this.

I'd be surprised if 'Unknown Sources' app installs were permitted. You may be better buying a cheap Android TV box for this.

Just ordered mine from AO! Coming on Saturday. Got it for £609 (£629 with a £20 new customer discount code). Once I start looking for something, I can only hold off for so long! :)

Nice one! You are going to love it. I'm can't even begin to say how impressed I am by this telly. All the 4K content especially the youtube\amazon\netflix stuff look amazing.
