It sounds very similar, is it a fault? If so, I'll send it back. However, I love the tv and can get over it if it' aa common issue on all sets.

Completely random and doesn’t help us with our current models, but hisense just bought Toshibas TV department
      Hisense acquires Toshiba TV business
By the looks of it including the R&D and support departments!

Think it is down to colour settings. If you remove all picture settings the flashing doesn't happen

Yes messing with the advancedcolour setting has an impact with flashing I find.
Also try flashing the bin file if you haven't already.

HDR on my PC seems good. Desktop mode, Gaming and Video.
Some games are better than others.
The switching from HDR back to standard in video is my main issue as it doesn't always work probably due to no decent software to do it. Games seems fine at switching.

With Vestel and Toshiba and their venture into oleds in Europe. it could be a partnership that would get Hisense into oleds. also, I hope that is not affected by this deal
at least their software so-called support could get any worse than it is currently is

The flashing picture is down to using the colour settings- reset these and the flashing goes away. You can get a decent enough picture (except res of course as that needs a small adjustment to actually produce red) just by using the white balance settings

      "Picture Setting - HDR (derr!)
      Brightness - 50
      Contrast - 40

LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE AS PER DEFAULT - LOOKS GOOD TO ME!"

I use PC mode and HDR mode only. Mainly HDR mode lately and I leave everything as standard and have no colour issues. I only change Brightness, contrast and colour to taste. And the obvious removing of jugger in advanced options.
      HDR=50 Brightness, 40 contrast and 40 colour.

I feel the more you keep thinking there are better settings than simply how you like it, you will never be happy. Different sources may need different tweaks making you think somethings wrong. There's not.
Drop the latest firmware on, relax and enjoy!

I only use my PC for everything though. Think I sorted the my video issue out, touch wood.

      Email from engineer received today...

      Good morning Mr.,

Sorry for the delayed response, I have spoken with Hisense directly and they have advised there is nothing sooner available right now. They did not advise when to expect the latest update but advised that your TV will update automatically once this is released.

      Kind regards,

When you play the PS4 how do you find those settings? Don't you find nobblers 'night' settings a bit too dark for gaming?

Regarding the questions for gaming and HDR settings.

Gaming - I've copied my day settings to the game profile and use these.

For HDR - I've just copied the basic settings from Craven, no colour tuning just the brightness contrast etc. pictures below from some HDR demos and grand tour on the Xbox Amazon app, photographing a TV is never a great solution, they look better in person but a good idea of how they come across. The grand tour actually looks very good, no heavy banding in the sky which is pretty impressive, not sure of the Amazon 4K HDR bitrate used but looks nice.
Having just had a bit more of a play I've now got
      brightness - 45
      contrast - 38
      colour sat - 40
I think this may be slightly crushing the whites but it makes for a visually more appealing picture so I'm happy to lose a little bit of the detail.

@sammyvine You can put a higher value for the backlight if you find the picture a little too dark, and the contrast, you can try til 51. It really depend on how you watch the TV, i m always in the dark x)

By the way, since the last nvidia driver from yesterday, i got a really nice picture on netflix hdr !!! ( or windows update from tuesday )
