Hikvision CCTV System on a budget

Hi guys,

I'm looking at installing a CCTV system in our street due to the amount of vandalism on cars that keeps happening at the moment during the night.

There are two properties together that back right on to the footpath and would like to be able to record the road and footpath on the opposite side.

I have purchased a Hikvision HiWatch Series NVR-104M-A/4P and wanted to couple this with 2 POE IPC-D140 4MP dome cameras that would be fixed on the wall of the front of the property (1 at each side) but I have read that these can only be installed horizontally on a soffit for example.

Can the video orientation not be changed through the software or does this mean I would have to buy the verticle wall bracket that would then install these dome cameras horizontally?

I was hoping to avoid the brackets so the dome cameras would look more descreet on the wall.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i'm beginning to get somewhat lost with it all.

Thanks!
