The problem for newcomers is that they/we are worried about buying online and being faced with all sorts of setting up issues and chasing cable around.

Obviously we want the online prices!

The specialist retailers will do pre-sales site visits and install/cable for you but are expensive.

The ideal way is to buy online at the best price and get one of the real experts on this forum to drive down and install!

What is the best way for a newby to get decent gear cheap and get it setup properly?

    DEO,
If you aren't interested in service back up, and amplifiers are generally reliable, buy on-line and read the instruction book, I suppose.
Avoid grey imports if you can, as you may be comprehensively stuffed should problems arrive.

NOT free of charge. I would be happy to pay the going rate if some experienced person could set up the equipment for me. In any case Birmigham is a pretty central location, (and not far from Tamworth!)
