All, Does anyone know where to find a high quality video source with at least the resolution of a 50" plasma? I'm interested to know just how much better such a source would look than current DVDs. I'm already impressed by the PQ from DVDs with 480/576 vertical pixels scaled up to 768, and so I'm interested to see how much better a source with 768 or more vertical pixels would look. From my limited knowledge, here are several possibilities (and the problems I see with them): 1) HDTV: not released here next January at the earliest, and I'm not planning to travel to the states/Japan in the near future. 2) DVHS with D-Theater: requires an expensive imported player and imported pre-recorded cassettes from a limited selection. 3) US XBOX with HD cable and 720p or 1080p game: I really want to see "real life" video rather than games. 4) HTPC with high resolution sample video: Can't find any such samples. The last option is the only (inexpensive) possibility that I can think of for those us in the UK. Does anyone know where I could find such a sample video clip, or does anyone know of any other possible high resolution sources? And can anyone who has experienced any of the above sources give an opinion of how much better (or not!) they look on a decent 50" plasma when compared with a good DVD source? Cheers, Ian.
