High ISO shot with Silver Efex

Hey,

It's my favourite model again (she's free) shot at ISO 2200 at 1/15sec. I ran the file quickly through LR3 to get rid of the noise as best I could and added tonality and structure in Silver Efex Pro. I thought it came out well. Just ambient light and clearly there was sufficient to avoid too much image degradation. I am definitely going to get this software...it's good:smashin:

Again that has come out absolutely gorgeous... Silver Efex Seems to be a pretty cool piece of kit...
I like the fact there is a sliding line that you can use that reveals a before and after view of your work. Seeing the slider in action helps to prevent going too far from the original shot. Just like HDR software it's easy to overdo things and an original frame of reference, in the form of a sliding reveal, REALLY helps tons.

Pete.

Nice enough shot Pete but hard to judge what Silver FX has done without seeing the original and whether any of the available BW Presets are similar

It's more of an observation really Jim as anyone using LR3 or SE Pro will make either more adjustments, or less according to taste. Suffice to say that for me, I was impressed as a long term LR user with what SE Pro can bring to the party. So impressed that I bought the company....err...I mean a copy.

As for what can be done you may find this of interest:

It is that whole selective editing that I like so much about their products, hence I bought the full plugin suite (for Aperture)...Viveza is so easy and amazing to work with as well. As is their output sharpener...
