    Hi guys,

Has any body got a good recommendation for a quality ROBUST steering wheel for xbox. I've tried a number of high street products but I manage to break them within a week! I've even customised them to get a bit more life out of them but they're just so weak. I don't mind paying a bit more if it guarantees a longer play-life

PS2 Driving Force Pro seems to get a good rating - anything like this for xbox

I'm gonna be chewing the carpet if I don't get another wheel soon!

Ps2 driving force is a Logitech wheel, they don't do any for Xbox (yet).
You can however if you think that the PS2 wheel will be 'tough enough' for your requirements buy a PS2 Xbox Joypad/stick/wheel convertor and plug every PS2 controller into your Xbox you want.

The converter won't work with steering wheels like the Logitech driving force pro as it's USB.

On the plus side it does work on the PC as well though with the Wingman drivers

Great steering wheel as well - no other wheel comes close IMO - especially with the 900 degree steering!

    Hm, ok no USB then.
I have the Ferrari 360 Force Feedback, didn't break so far (2 Months) but it might be one of those you already had :D

It is silly really that the console which has the best range of driving games has no quality steering wheel available for it.

    agreed 100%.
Even the Microsoft FF that i have for the PC still is miles better than any Xbox wheel.
Strange really being that the Xbox is Microsoft and they can't (or don't want)
    to implement USB support.

    Hi,

How does the PS2/X-Box controller convertor allocate buttons on to the PS2 controller? Can you do it manually?

Yeah I can't understand this at all. The X-Box is basically a PC inside anyway so you'd have thought that if any console would have USB support it would be the X-Box. Then again the joypads probably connect via modified USB ports with the same technology used, just with different shaped plugs & sockets.

You can actually just mod a normal breakaway cables for use as a usb female connector.
