What have yours been, in no particular order?

    High:

    Work success

    Bought a new TV

    Built a new en-suite bathroom

    Started landscaping the garden

    Installed new windows

Son made it onto the school footie team

Daughter and Son both achieved red belt Jiu Jitsu

    Nothing too dramatic happened.

    Low:

Had to lose a big chunk of garden because the boundary fence was not correct apparently.

Other new neighbor moved in and generally pissed me off all year with flag poles, wheelie bins and splashing concrete.

Got stuck behind a cyclist with threadbare shorts and bumhole on display.

Tent airbeam popped. Got it replaced but it was a hassle.

not to put a dampener on things so close to the start of this post but, 2017 can go and politely pleasure its self.

Beginning of the year I took ill, couldn't eat or drink, appetite completely vanished, and on more than once vomited blood. Went to the doctors and got passed through to the Hospital urgently. In the 2 months between feeling ill and going to the hospital I lost 2 stone. After every test imaginable and 8mths passing by, I get diagnosed with Crohns, fun times...weight loss has steadied I can eat one meal a day, sometimes more if I am lucky.

Last week, my missus for the last 15years that I have 2 kids (7 & 4) with told me via email whilst I was in work that she no longer wants to be with me as we don't do anything together anymore. I have pointed out that I have had zero energy for the last year and I'm quite glad to stay awake until she gets home after working all day and looking after the kids until 6pm when she gets back from work. She would like to keep the house and the kids with her as not to up set them too much and that there will be no changing of her mind and nothing I can say or any change I can make her decision is final. We have never argued and there has not been a single time where she has sat down and expressed that she is unhappy. There is also no one else in the picture as far as I can tell. When I have since spoken to her and shown her how distraught I am with a) how it was handled and b) the whole situation, she told me that she is suprised at how upset I am.

To top it all off I was watching TV last night and realised that when I decorated around this time last year I buried the bleeding TV power cable through the wall and can't even take it with me.

So I suppose the upside will be I need to buy a new TV, well new everything really...

My bench press has gone up by nearly 30kg!

Had a cracking family holiday for my 40th in April..

Kids are even more amazing than last year.

    Bought a BMW X3 3.0d.

Work has been a bit of a mixed bag...

I'm still holding judgement on the rest....[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Separated after 25 years, took a year to sell the house.

The house I purchased is much worse than I expected, and currently no heating ceilings down and living in a building site dust as far as you can see, have a tight budget for renovations working all hours to keep ahead of the trades people I have employed who are working amazingly well.

Plus points beer in the fridge and the local takeaway is superb and neighbors great.

Highs getting both eyes sorted (cataracts )

Still waking up each morning. Reduced hours start January 2018. (In reality same number of hours probably but over 4 days, if only I could get rid of the title of Manager)

    Low
Only 1, seeing really good friends emigrate to Canada and worse still seeing how great it is for them.

Highlight of my year (and life) was getting married in February. Low was then being separated from my wife for 7 months till we could sort out her visa. She is here in England though now and all is good with the world again.

She is definitely worth it. All the hassle and money of getting the visa was time and money well spent. Never been to bowlers before in my life. Should do though as it's just down the road. What is Barrio though??

It was the Barrio fiesta, pretty poor this year tbh.

I guess she has found her place in the local pinoy community :)

Is that fiesta a Filipino thing also? She's not met too many people as yet but she's met some. We joined a group on Facebook who are having a Christmas party on 15th so we are going to go there in the hopes she can meet a few more people.

the year was lost really after wife was diagnosed out of the blue with a ridiculously large kidney cancer that's been gestating for approx 10 years...next appt a week on friday but we're planning on a hell of a chrimbo whatever the outcome, 6 mths ago we didn't think she'd make it this far...

one high, daughter absolutely blowing her gcses out of the water despite the fact her mum was in hospital just after surgery when she sat her first one....she may be a pita but she still makes me proud sometimes...;)

    High:

    Got my old job back.

Euro/pound being super weak. Makes shopping easier as UK Amazon is sooo much better then the French site. Whoever runs the French side of the business is lucky to have a job!

    Low:

Lost a kitten. Poor mite strangled himself on a toy while we were out. If it wasn't for an old biddy in the supermarket rummaging for loose change in her bag we'd have gotten back in time to free him. (this happened end 2016)

Besides minor gripes about slow builders and the never ending wailing of cats, I can't complain.

Good luck. You can then bore anyone who'll listen about how good you are at driving...

...whilst constantly praying you never ever crash, or get a speeding ticket again. In your life. :rotfl:

    Highs:

New job, more cash + better car (I've realised it makes a difference as I spend so much bloody time driving!)
Daughter loving secondary school and doing well
Wife loving university and doing equally well

    Lows:

Reading other people's actual proper low points of 2017 and not actually having any lows - @davema1kin and @drhcnip, I truly hope 2018 is better for you both.
