hifidelio pro firmware update (?)

First post , so I apologise if this has already been covered elsewhere.

I've also recently bought one of trevor's hifidelios. The firmware version on it is 2.1.2, and I want to update it (mainly to get the WPA encryption for my router). With the router un-encrypted, I can connect the hifidelio to the router and stream internet radio, so I know the connection's working. Yet when I try to use the software update option, nothing happens.

I've also tried to find updates on the internet that i can burn to a CD (mentioned in other posts) but the links seem to be dead.

Any ideas gratefully rec'd.

PS - I understand that hifidelios are sold under the olive brand in the US. Their website provides a firmware version 2.3.18 - would this also work on a hifidelio?

Hi there

I also bought one of Trevor's Hifidelios. I'd already done some research and had downloaded the latest manual and firmware upgrades. The Hifidelio site is now down, but the firmware upgrade is still available from http://www.audiotec.nl/_files/hifidelio_update_2_3_18.zip. It's an ISO file, so you need to have software (such as Nero) which can burn an ISO image to a CD. Once you have the CD, just follow the instruction in the manual for upgrading. Well worth it.

The latest version of the manual is the 4th edition. Unfortunately that is also unavailable from the Hifidelio site, but can be downloaded from http://***********/39y4zb. There is a great unoffical user guide to the Hifidelio at http://www.myside2.nl/Vincent/Manual.doc

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for that smithy_sid, that's worked great. I'm now running v2.3.18, and have the WPA encryption back on. Next job is to find out how to stop the remote codes clashing with my arcam amp!

Thanks again,

-Alex

Glad you got it up and running.

Regarding the remote codes, just give up! I've got a NAIM amp, and the remote codes clash with the Hifidelio. I realised I could live without a remote for the Hifidelio, so I used some magic tape to tape some silver foil over the remote eye on the Hifidelio. That way my NAIM remote didn't mess up the Hifidelio.

BTW, if you have a PC, activate TELNET on the Hifidelio and use Veronica to control the Hifidelio. You'll need a VNC client - I use TightVNC or VNCViewer (free downloads). If you have a Windows Mobile PDA, VNCViewer works on that as well and gives you a wireless full-colour remote!

have fun
