OK, next question......I see it has analogue audio outputs as standard and they say you need their own optional $20.00 DIGITAL adaptor for DD/DTS....Is this just an optical lead or does it plug in to a scoekt somewhere on the component flying lead using a proprietry cable?

    Thanks so far!

Gordon, each set of cables has a minijack at the termination near the console. A small dongle fits into this minijack and has a standard digital optical jack on the other end. This allows you to use a digital optical cable for audio with any set of the X Link cables. Smart stuff.

I've uploaded some pics to my site so you can see what I mean.

Pictured below is the Monster Optical Cable with Minijack Dongle :).

And here it is attached to the Component cable :).

Two forum members have two different versions of my cable to try. One uses exotic parts the other relatively unexotic parts. Both are very labour intensive. Parts are ordered for final version dependant on feedback. Then I might sell a handfull.

It will be between £70-100 for 1M version dependant on what bits I decide to use.
