    Hi all,

New to hi-fi stuff and to be honest after a this project I'll go back to being clueless.

I want to put a separates system in my gym room with speakers in that room as well as the adjoining garage, is there a way to control the speakers separately I.e. If I'm in the garage it's on in there but not gym and vice versa

Be great to have some advice.

Most HiFi amps that can support two sets of speakers allow switching of A, B or A+B. But some are only A or A+B. So you need to check the manual of any potential purchase to be sure.

If you want remote control of volume & source then you'll need something app enabled or a RF enabled remote control.

picked up a yamaha RX-V795 for a tenner which seems to have the option for which speakers to use.
It's an AV reciever which I assume is ok. Only planning to stick a CD player on it and 2 pairs of speaker, not after crystal clear listening, just something that does the job

That Yamaha at that price is a steal, provided it's working.... The bad news is you will get crystal clear listening with any reasonable speakers ..good luck..

well that's bad news I can live with :) yup all seems to work fine. Nice unit, didn't realise it was as useful as it appears to be, going to plug the DVD player, TV and CD player and make the "gym" a little more man cave ish.
Just need to find myself a steal of a CD player and 4 speakers and i'm good.
