Will this lead ( component > vga ) save me money on buying a component board, So i can get hi def from my xbox to my pw7, using a m/soft hi def lead and plugging it into my pw7 through my vga sockect.

Now i have my xbox going into my plasma via a sony dav sc5, using composite leads, then composite leads going into a pro v, then a vga cable going to my pw7, and to be honest the quality is really good. so will i see a big difference in quality or not.

( i know thats a projector in the picture, that gave me the idea for this.)

    cheers

Unless you are visually impaired then yes you will certainly notice a difference.

Oh and connecting an xbox(come to think of it anything) to a Sony Plasma via Composite is ver very Wrong  :)

I believe so providing you have the Xbox region is set to NTSC. How much is the xbox component to vga lead ?

The only thing you have to be careful of signal lag. THis can happen when you use this sort of connection with some Plasma panels, LG Plasma screens certainly used to have this problem. I dont know if its an issue with Panasonic.

By singal lag i mean delay between actions when playing a game, audio synch issues etc etc.

:lesson: what sort of signal do you think component cables carry???!!!
(hint, the colours of the cables kinda give it away)

Consoles/dvd players regardless, Comp and RGB via VGA are not the same thing!

Sorry to break this to you Pooontang - but apparently PW7s with older firmware won't display component signals through VGA.
