Have had a quick search and can't seem to find the answer
I know this might be in the wrong forum but here goes

I'm after building my own HTPC and am after a Hi-Def DVD player to go in it, are there any available at the minute or do I have to wait until Blu-Ray becomes available in the UK (anyone got an idea when they're due)
Or will i have to get a seperate deck? I like the Samsung 745 and it'd match my Samsung SP46L3HX

There are no HD DVD or BluRay drives available yet. HD DVDs won't be launched in the US until Q4 this year, I have no idea when they may find their way across the pond.

Also, as yet there are no announced plans for software licensed to play HD DVDs, this will certainly require graphics cards capable of outputtting HDCP-crippled digital outputs in order to get hidef resolution. If the pattern set by DVD-A licensing is followed only hardware-based decoding will be allowed.

All this though is still up in the air and will be until later this year I suspect.
