ive just ordered a 160GB hard drive with hd capable output from telewest and itll be here on the 3rd of april. they asked me what tv i had and said the technician will bring a hdmi cable with him to carry the hi def signal. thought it would be a long slog but it looks like ill be well settled in by the time the world cup arrives! all this has only cost me an extra £5 a month!

Hi mate, just wondering how you got it for only another £5 a month. I have seen it on the telewset site at £15 for my package (essential)?
    Cheers

i got it for £5 a month like this; im paying £10 for my second box, this falls to £5 with tvd. that drops the price to an extra £10 a month, but, if you have the supreme package it drops the £15 a month for the tvd to £10 so im getting the extra channels which cost me an extra £6 regardless but im saving that on the tvd. so. £5 a month!

I've already got a Telewest box in the front room and want the TVDrive in another. We have the standard package and it says the additional TVDrive box (as an existing customer) would only be £5 per month.

    Is this right?

i think youve got it a bit backwards. with the standard package itll cost you £15 a month for the tvd with an extra £5 a month to keep your normal box.

Seems silly to have to pay for the standard package twice in one house!

    The way I understood it when I spoke to Telewest was;

Keeping the old box where it is £5.00.

    TVDrive in another room £15.00.

Free install..............might be wrong as the sales lady was going so fast telling me how great it was and her kids were watching that HD programme (cant remember what its called) over and over again.

No they haven't, there's been a ton of threads about it on these very forums and no definite anouncement has been made.

it only costs £5 for an extra box, so if you have the top package you get all those channels on the extra box too. Gutted to hear that bbc arnt showing the world cup. i heard ( through the grape vine thinking about it) that they were! oh well. at least ill be ready when it does come. and i get a 160gb recorder too. I can live with it for the extra fiver.

They shoot a lot of their stuff in hi-def, if they didn't they wouldn't be able to sell it to other countries that are years ahead of us and have been watching HD for a long time. They will have an HD feed of the world cup but its a case of setting up a way of getting that to people - not going to happen just for a few people with the telewest boxes

So it is just an extra £5 per month? Are we sure? See pricing attachement and decypher.

    Hi

I have just got a deal on my Sky package half price
and I got £80 of M&S vouchers for the wife i told them
    I was going to cancel........

Well I just seen that telewest are offering almost the same channels
and some of their (Telewest) feed will HD is this right....

Is there anyone at the moment looking at HD TV in UK

I suppose I might wait till the end of my 3 months deal
Sky by all accounts from other post will be alot more expensive
    for HD ???

I'm gonna call Telewest tomorrow for some information on pricing but the attachement I provided doesn't really clarify charges at all.

Phoned Telewest and they told me it would be an extra £25 per month. £5 to keep the original Telewest box and the rest for TVDrive and the Standard package.

WTF!!!! The web-site does not imply this AT ALL!!
