    Hi,

I've got a Rel Q100E, and over the weekend I connected up a BFD.

I have a graph that looks pretty flat give or take 2db between 20-100ish Hz except for a dip around 55 to 65 Hz it drops down by about 7db in this area and no matter what I do I cannot raise it the rest is at 89-91 and this hump will barely go over 83 i've tried sticking in a +16db spike with width of 1 at around 55 and also around 60 and it doesn't make any different!!

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

It sounds like you are sitting in a genuine null in the room, where the sound waves cancel each other out. You can't Eq this. The more you correct the more is cancelled by the room. This is why you shouldn't Eq dips in the response, some will be nulls and you will eventually damage the sub by using too much correction.

Moving the sub position or changing where you sit will probably help a bit.

    Thanks for that.

Once we realised we were not actually doing anything by having the filters in place they were removed.

When I get a chance i'm going to give the "move the sub" a go. I can't move us because we are in the only decent place to watch the projector :)

If you haven't already, I would suggest increasing your banwidth. You have it set for 1/60 octave, which is very little. Maybe try increasing that to 5 or 10.
