Yep and I have the photos to prove it
Jenz are you going to give us a blow by blow account of its install setup and performance supported by the pics of course?
I'm going to cover the install first BUT for the actual image stuff you're going to have to wait until next weekend.
That's after The Rock has been installed
Yes they are both in these ranges.
I've been running my 808 at 36/36. Using dTV to watch a video last night I had to push them up into the 50's and was worried to death that I would burn the tubes, are you sure it's ok to run them that high?
The video card you are using, the initial set up of G2 levels and the greyscale balance etc will all effect the brightness and contrast levels you may have to use with a projector.
Eric's and Jenz are very low hr units I believe. This may be why they both have similar settings.
You are only going to be burning the tubes if you are seeing "blooming".
Its also fairly well known that the Geforce Overlay settings need to be in the 125-130 Range on Brightness.
If your card is lower than this you should set it higher. This will allow you to reduce the 808 settings.
Full details will be posted when I've finished with The Rock.
From memory I think I'm running the overlay brightness around 115-120. With WinDVD my pj settings are 36/36 but with dTV I have to ramp them up much higher to get a decent brightness, do you have to do the same?
No I dont change dTV at all. Are you running v2.12?
You will find that Brightness will end up around the 40-45 mark and Contrast at 70-75. Contrast sounds high but is the norm for the 808s.
Not being into HTPC as yet I assumed Dtv was for American use .What is it and what do you get in the Uk with it
