Hello,

I recently bought a yamaha rx-v671, and I am using a URC MX880 universal remote. I love both products and both are working well together except two commands which are important.

I need to learn the universal remote to do the "on screen" command and the "enter" command, which are on the stock remote for the yamaha. Every-time I try to learn the command, it says the command has been learned, however it doesn't work. URC recommends getting the hex codes from yamaha, however getting through to yamaha is about as hard as you could imagine.

Anyone who can help me with this I would really appreciate it..

Thanks, and happy holidays.

I assume you mean the Pronto IR code - it's been a while but can you try this to see if I've remembered how to decode these correctly:

On-screen (Main):

thanks, i will try that... so all those numbers are just for one command?

i need the codes for "on screen" and the "enter "button....

Can I assume by 'onscreen' you are looking for the setup menu code?

Onscreen

by on screen i mean the button on the yamaha remote called "on screen" .... it is basically a setup command which allows you to go into the settings on the receiver and make changes... where did you find these codes? are you some sort of wizard hahah?? I really appreciate your help and I am trying this right now as we speak.

neither one worked...... i called URC (remote company)and they said i am entering them in properly, just probably the wrong code....

I am an installer and I deal with Pronto Pro, Nevo and RTI remote control systems. I got the codes from the RTI database for a similar model.

Try these:

Well the codes did work.... however they only worked when i did a "test" phase in the software for the remote.... it does not wok when I physically disconnect the remote and try and use the buttons.... i doubt you can help me from here... i wish you could though... thanks so much for your help this far

Which codes worked?

If they worked in test mode but not independently than that would suggest to me there is a fault with the remote itself.
