    The reason I ask is that there is a rumoured directors cut which is 120 minutes & I wanted to know whether this is the definitive version?

    The film is brilliant - much better than "crouching tiger etc"

    There is a 120 minute cut out later this year though - look at DVD compare

    As mentioned above, this running time is the same as the current release so this is not the impending extended edition. The extras discs might not be english subtitled either, so I'm not sure whether this release is the best.

    However, the film is a must have in one shape or form; good story, great set pieces, beautiful cinematography, lovely score and an excellent DTS-ES soundtrack. :smashin:

    did anyone else see the demo of it at the Bristol show earlier this year in the Kef room? It was amazing! I bought the dvd staright away on the basis of a 3 minute demo :)

    Its dissappointing that they can call it the "Ultimate Edition" & house it on 3 discs in lovely packaging & it NOT be the Director's Cut :suicide: Its just another way of getting us to buy 3/4 times :mad:

    It is a shame that they can squeeze money out of us this way but I think Hero is great - All star cast (from HK any way), great story, great filmography and superb sound.
