my toshiba laptop had to be fixed and since i got it back my ipod won't work on it ,i have reinstalled my itunes but as soon as i put my ipod into the usb my laptop freezes up .
now i know my ipod is working fine on my desktop pc but as soon as i plug it into the usb on the laptop, my windows explorer freezes and so does itunes .
does anyone have any idea on how i can resolve this do i need to install better drivers for my laptop or does it sound like my laptop is still faulty .

I presume you've tried to recover the Toshiba using the factory CD?

Hmmm... tough one. Do you have other USB Mass Storage devices you can test with?

May not have anything to do with it, but I presume you installed a fairly late version of iTunes.

Feel for you mate , i hate it when things like that happen and i thought things like that just happen to me !!:(

Although ive no real advice for you im just thinking aloud is it worth seeing if it works on someone elses PC or laptop with the same usb lead? I had one where the actual lead was bugga'ed could be something as simple as that ??

Maybe the case as you say another usb pen drive works . Hope u get it sorted as i know how infuriating it is !!

Try deleting the USB controllers in Device manager, then rescan for new devices
