Hi, firstly do you have normal Sky digital or Sky+(with internal hard drive)
secondly does the DAV400 have optical input?

If you have normal Sky digital then the maximum sound you will be able to generate is Dolby Pro Logic (or Dolby Pro Logic II if it has this facility) via normal phono type leads connected between Sky and your Sony.

If you have Sky+ and an optical connection on your Sony then using an optical lead you will get Dolby Digital on certain or most films but not on general broadcasts, this will be Dolby Pro Logic encoded only.

    I hope this helps.
If it is optical you need it is this type
