Folks, I am trying to send 2 off PAL camera signal images to another PC through a 10 MB/s network. The camera signals are going to 2 separate Osprey 100 video input cards inside a Dell 420 Workstation. I then use software called TightVNC which is a client/server software for remote access. I have the TightVNC client installed on the Bartec and the TightVNC server installed on the Dell 420 workstation. I then acivate remote access to the Dell from the Bartec through the 10MB/s network to bring up the camera images on the Bartec. At present the camera image video is freezing and im not getting full motion video playback. When i reduce the colour bit depth to 256 colours from 16bit colour on the Dell I get full motion video playback BUT the image is not watchable due to the reduced 256 colours. This makes me believe that the 10MB/s network hub is the bottleneck. The Dell is capable of 100MB/s and the other PC is also capable of 100MB/s. Will i just have to order a 100MB/s network hub? I'm at present trying to find out if 100MB/s network will suffice for our application. If you know of or have worked with sending camera images to any PC then please let me know any information you have. or if you know of any other software that i can use. Thanks and regards, Steve.
