Hi
i have been trying to link my Sony Bravia TV to my system so that i can watch music dvd's with quality sound. Intially i had my dvd and tv linked via a scart box that was then connected to my audio system via a cheap 5m interconnect. Over time i started to experience an increasing hum through the speakers so i changed to an optical lead from the tv to a dac with an rca interconnect from the dac to the audio system. Still i had obtrusive amounts of hum so i tried a noise suppressor isolation transformer this made the hum worse!! After the massive preamble can anyone suggest a tried and tested route that i could try to link my dvd/tv to my audio system without hopefully to much hum?
thanks

Just use the Tv for video from your DVD player and use the players audio out to your stereo system...that's the usual way of doing it.
Also any hum in these setups is usually at a constant level and doesn't increase over time...that suggests a fault in your amp...probably in its power supply area.
