I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here :lease:

Came to switch my Pic Frame 2 on about 10 mins ago and it turned on then after about 3 seconds turned itself back off again

I've unplugged it, plugged it back in and the same thing happens

Has anyone any ideas/suggestions, it's more than 12 months old so no guarantee to fall back on.

Maybe a fault with the on/off switch not engaging properly. I've a similar problem with a 28" Hitachi but vice-versa. Sometimes when I think I've turned the TV off it switches itself back on, I have to play about with the switch a few times until I hear it click properly into place.

    Fred,

I know this is hard to believe, but your TV may well be doing you a big favour by switching itself off!

Modern TV's have sensors which detect an overload and turn off the set before it can do itself a mischief or even catch the house on fire.

Is the LED near the power switch flashing?

This is a code which will tell your friendly repair-person where the fault lies.

    Thanks for the replies.

neilmcl - the switch does engage properly, there is a definate clunk when i turn it on.

Tight Git - the LED doesn't flash, it's just on permanently as normal.

    Thanks guys.

Anyone else with any other suggestions

I had something similar to this but with mine when I turned it off the green timer light would flash (I hadn't toughed the timer settings) and the set wouldn't turn back on until the main power was reset.

Does the timer light flashing mean an error has occured?

Unfortunately that set was returned this morning due to geometry issues and the replacment is much worse. :(

    Good luck with your problem!

    Any other ideas ???

Could it be something simple like a power board that could be replaced or is it likely to be more severe than that.

Have you tried giving Toshiba customer services a ring? They may be able to give a rough diagnosis of the problem?
