I have a TH-42PWD7BK and I have noticed a noisy picture when watching DVD's via my Toshiba SD240E. It is wired up via component using Van damme cables. Is this normal or could I do something to improve the situation. I run a sky+ box via js scart to VGA and notice the same problems. It looks like thousands of tiny coloured dots when you get up close to the screen. Any help would be appreciated. More noticeable when there are dark scenes especially blacks.

    Thanks

    Steve

What you`ve described is normal when you have the brightness and contrast set too high and stand close to the screen.

Try lowering the settings slightly and you should see an improvement.
