hi. i've been visiting this forum compulsively since finding it several weeks back. i always enjoy and appreciate reading others' opinions about various hi-fi gear, especially since i'm in the process of building a new audio system. i must admit, however, that sometimes the terminology leaves me lost. i have a hard time understanding, for example, what it means when a speaker is 'forward' or 'relaxed'. or when the 'sound stage' is 'open' or 'flat'. not knowing these terms also leaves me with no way to describe or understand the sound qualities of the various speakers and components that i audition. please help me to understand these and other discriptors of the hi-fi world. thanks.
