help with surround speaker cable extension

Standard Member

I've set up my new Panasonic SC-PT560 but the cables supplied for the rear surround speakers are too short.
The cables have a molded insert on one end for plugging into the amp. This doesn't seem to be removable so I'm not sure how I can install a longer cable.
Has anyone tried to extend these type of pre-made off cables?
Although ugly a last resort is to use a terminal strip to join on an extension. Would this type of join effect sound quality?

A terminal strip would do the job no problem, but people say the ideal way is soldering. Personally, I'd go with your suggestion :smashin:

I ended up using the soldered method as it's a neater job and the terminal strip would have been a big lump on the skirting board.
