Help with speakers for dts and 5.1 spend about £300????

I need some speakers to go with my pioneer vsxd510 amp from tectronics i have got about £300 to spend have been looking at the celestion avp 100 range any views or recomendations on anything else.

Might be worth a trip down to your local Richer Sounds branch. Check out the Kef Cresta models (Cresta 1, 2 & 3, Centre) and the Paradigm subwoofer range (PDR 8,10 PS1000).

You´ll have a much better sounding system with the above speakers.

 

How much would the they set me back m8?

 

According to their website www.richersounds.com the prices are:

Kef Cresta 3 (floorstanders) - 119.95 (Black) Pair
Kef Cresta 2 (Bookshelf) - 79.95 (Black) Pair
Kef Cresta 1 (Bookshelf) - 49.95 (Black) Pair
Kef Cresta Centre - 49.95 (Black)

The Paradigm subs were on offer a while ago, the PDR 10 was around 120 quid.

You could have the Cresta Centre, pair of Cresta 1 as rears, Cresta 3 as fronts for 219.95 just got to add the sub, goes a little over budget. Or have Cresta 2 as Fronts instead but you´ll need some stands.

What do people have to say about this Eltax Atomic A12 (Subwoofer, single), Black they have it on offer for £99.95 does it sound cheap or is it cheap because its not good?

I´d stick with one of the Paradigms.

 

Where can i get one m8 the ps1000 sonds good it was on offer in richer but not now anywhere else m8?

 

Trouble is Richer Sounds are the only distributors of Paradigm. Do they have a PDR10 or PDR 12 Paradigm? Either one of those will do. Another alternative is to keep an eye on the Hardware/Classifieds Forum for 2nd hand subs.

Just a quick one before i go what about the Mission FS2-AV pack its £379 at empire and would it be good for tv only?

Will be going to richer about 11 if someone who knows about them or have them could answer.

The Mission isn´t a bad package. Try a search of the Forum and you´ll get a fair bit of info about them. Personally, I´d still go for something like the Kefs and a Paradigm sub, given the choice.

 

If you are interested, I am selling my Tannoy Mx series surround speakers as I just moved house and they are too big for my new living room (sob!)

They consist of Mx3 floorstanding fronts, Mx2 stand-mounted rears and the matching MxC centre speakers.
They are Light Maple in colour, bi-wireable and in excellent condition as I have only had them just over a year. There's just a slight mark on one of the grille covers which you can replace anyway if you want.
All original boxes and packaging and user manuals.
The stands, black, for the Mx2 rears, are for sale too.

I am looking for £300 for the speakers and £30 for stands.
