Help with Sony CDP-XE270

Hi, need some help.

I have just bought a Sony CDP-XE270 and need to understand how I can utilise the remote that came with my Sony AV receiver.

Sony claim that this machine is remote capable, even thou a remote isn't suppled.........

if you have a sony AV remote , the remote should be able to control the cd player immediatley, the codes are preprogrammed to control sony equipment including the CD players so i cant understand why it wont work

I'm not too sure either, my main unit is str-de595, any ideas ????
