Help with setup

I think this is a very basic question.

I have a very old Denon AVR-800 - AV surround Receiver. It has speaker inputs for Front, Center and Rear.

I have speakers setup in two different rooms - using the Front and Rear.

It seems to be splitting channels - vocals in one room and instrumentals in rear etc. Surround is off and stereo is off.

Any suggestions? thanks in advance...

doesn't seem to have 5 ch. but it has:

3CH logic mode (in the manual it says "use this mode when the rear channel speakers are not used. the rear channel info is reproduced by the front speakers")

Surround Modes (Dolby Pro Logic,Hall, Studio)
Center Mode (Normal, Phantom, Wide)

thanks!

Don't think you can do much to be honest. The 3CH Logic mode would appear to be a 3CH surround mode for systems with no surround speakers, if that makes sense. The surround info that would have come out of the surrounds is reproduced out of the fronts in addition to what the fronts would normally reproduce.

Think you've got to have the system in one room or the other but not both.

or i'll run back and forth depending on the song and whether the instrumentals or vocals are better!:)

thanks for the help, it's time to buy something else anyways...
