Hello :hiya: , i have just bought a denon 3805 and a Panasonic DMRE100HEBS hard disk recorder. I also currentley own a old toshiba crt a pace Pace DTVA-T freeview box?

    :lease:
Now, i am a complete novice, so could some one tell me what the best way of connecting all this up will be?

    Info i know

TV has composite, svideo and two scarts
Pace Box has one scart (no rf loopthrough)
Denon has trillions of connections, red, white, green blue
    Panasonic, no idea?

Have you got some nice speakers to go with that new amp and do you plan to use the Panny DVD for music as well, I was just interested in the musical sound quality thats all. I currently use my Sony DVD-7700 and Yamaha Home Cinema amp for music and I was thinking about an upgrade and the Denon was on the shortlist.

    Muzza1 :)

Hi nsl100, welcome to the forums.

    Connect up as follows:

    Pace Freeview Scart > Panasonic E100 AV2
    Panasonic E100 AV1 > TV EXT1
Panasonic Optical Out > Optical Input on your Denon
Pace Freeview Scart > Optical Input on your Denon If Pace model has Optical Out

    Notes
You'll need to set your Pace adaptor to RGB Output (You didn't state the model but it will probably have this - see the manual). Likewise for the AV1 and AV2 connections on your Panasonic E100 (goto Functions/Setup). You'll also need to check your TV supports RGB input - it should as Toshiba have been adding inputs like this for years now.

You Denon has got alot of connections - you don't need to use most of them though ;) The 3805 is an excellent piece of kit!

I really need your help now, this is driving me crazy

i have removed the denon from the equation for now

    I have:-

    Pace Freeview Scart > Panasonic E100 AV2
    Panasonic E100 (Scart) AV1 > TV AV1

I have set the pace box to RGB output
I have set the panny to start on AV2
I have set the Panny av1 output to RGB
I have set the Panny av2 input to RGB
I have set the AV2 Connection to Ext Link 1

Now, when i switch my pace box on, the panny fires up, undergoes a self test and then starts to automatically record the channel...and the only way i can switch it off is by powering down the unit?...what have i done wrong? :lesson:

Depends on what you want to view. You would not be able to view another Freeview channel but you could watch the terrestial channels by pressing 1-5 on your TV remote.
