Does anyone know where I can buy a black projection screen? All the screens I can find are either white or grey and it doesn't go with the decor in my house at all.

    Cheers

You mean one with a black border around the screen?

No I want a totally black screen, it would look absloutly lovely. I think I might have to build my own though, I can't seem to find one anywhere, I can't even find mention of one.

For best effect dont forget to take the bulb out of your projector first.

Sorry Lawrenzini I couldn't resist that one.

Basically what Miles was asking was that surely you dont want the actual fabric part of the screen where the image sits to be black? My screen is grey (very very pale) but made from high gain (very reflective like a road sign or car number plate). If it were black then very little of the projected image would reflect and you'd see almost nothing.

Now considering its not april the first for at least a fortnight.... are you looking for a screen in a black case?

If you're being serious I'd either use a pull down screen and hide the case behind a pelmet or fit a decent fixed screen and put either dark curtains or a black roller blind in front of it.

Curtains win for me as you can create a nice cinema effect and also use them to frame the side of the image when you're projecting 4:3 images.

Point taken - I'm looking for some condiments to make my hat taste nicer.

They aren't perfect and they aren't "black" either, more like mid to dark grey. Also they'll cost £2000 by the time you get it shipped here, but I will be keeping an eye out for the first drop down version...?

this reminds me of a conversation I had with an audio shop owner.
He told me that he had a guy come in wanting some speaker cable, so was shown some white cable...

The customer then asked, "what other colours do you have?"
The owner said "well we do it in black"
The customer looked at him and said "oh, what does that look like?"

Apparently after a long pause the owner said "well it's like the white, just darker..."

    true story. Frightening isn't it..

Why weren't you selling wood, if you were a timber merchant, that's just plain bizarre!

I am a bit lost here.

Am I right in thinking you worked for a timber merchants who didn't sell wood. If so what did you sell instead?

    Was it chipboard or something?

Crazy!! That business will definitely go bust if you turn away customers wanting a haircut. No wonder you don't work there anymore. You could have at least offered him a 'restyle'.

I can't say I'm surprised that he walked out, that's really rude. I'd have smacked you in the mouth.
