I am building a new PC which comes with RGB fans that I am not familiar with.

Here are the components of the build

Case : Cougar MX660 Mesh case with preinstalled RGB fans and controller
Motherboard : Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Processor
GPU : Zotac Geforce RTX 3070 Ti
PSU : Msi A850GF
Cooler : BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
Storage : Crucial P5 Plus 500 GB PCIe M.2

The Fans have the standard 3 pin cable for connecting to the SYS_FAN on the motherboard but also a cable to go to the controller. I connected all three to the controller and there is a cable from that that I have connected to the LED Strip header on the MB and another to the Sata for power. I would have though this would provide the power for both lighting them up and to spin the fans. When I fired up the PC, the lights go on but the fans don't spin. Was I therefore supposed to connect the other cables too?

Yes 100% the cables you have connected are all rgb cables, the other cables have to connect to fan outputs on the motherboard.

Thankyou. I just clicked that the circuit board just allowed more of the RGB cables from one RGB header on the motherboard. So the Sata power just gives them more power.

I was actually thinking of replacing the other three plain fans with the same or similar RGB ones that are at the front. I could use the other three slots on the other side. I have ordered two splitters for the 4 Pin header allowing three fans into one.

Can you suggest similar fans that might be compatible with them. I did have a look but a lot of them come with their own controller and different connection types so is a bit confusing.

Thanks again

This wee fan hub is cheap and I've found they are pretty good not had one fail yet, might be worth getting one. Runs 4 fans from one motherboard header.

Yeah that PWM Fan Hub 3 pin looks good.

For the Corsair one you sent me they only have one left in stock. I have found them on box.

Are these the same ones? They come with their own controller but don't show me what the connections look like. Will this one be compatible and just not use the controller and add the three fans to the circuit board on the right hand side?
