i am thinking of purchaseing a satnav unit for here in the UK but for when i go on holiday in the USA also
I can get hold of tomtom usa map software, are all tomtoms interchangeble with what maps are on them(can i just download the usa maps onto it when i leave for the USA and when i return to the UK redownload the UK maps)
How do i go about this?
And is Tomtom the best choice for this in mind?

thankyou

For what its worth its probably worth the while just buying the outgoing TomTom Go 910 as these are starting to come up cheaply with the inception of the new range x20.

So the Go 910 does have USA and Canada maps preloaded as well as UK Eire and Western Europe along with Hands-free capability with a compatible phone and speed cameras preloaded.

Hope this helps, you can usually get a 910 now for £300 max.
