    Hello,

I recently purchased the Panasonic SC-PT960. I have it hooked up to my Samsung HT-S6187w DLP television. For reference, I have a Samsung SMT-H3050 cable box as well.

To my dismay something is going on with the volume from my cable. It literally needs to be twice as loud as any sources direct from the receiver, for example FM radio, DVDs, Ipod. Somehow volume/power is being lost.

    Here's my setup:

    Cable Box-------***HDMI***----------TV (Video)
    Receiver--------***HDMI***----------TV (DVDs)
    TV------***Digital Optical Cable***----Receiver

I wanted the digital optical to go from the TV to the receiver so I could get my video game systems and PC inputs to play over the speakers. I did try taking the TV out of the loop and running the digital optical straight from the cable box to the receiver. This had 0 effect.

Since I've been able to take the TV out of the equation I've narrowed it down to two things. The digital optical cable and the cable box. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Any help is much appreciated.

    J:lease:
