Hi everyone I'm new here and I need a bit of help if possible.

I've bought a NAD T760 amp obviously second hand but in good condition.
The problem I'm having is with the volume. I'll describe it if I can.

To me it does not go as loud as it should.

The on screen volume shows a range from -60db to +8db. The volume cuts out completly at -33db and when at +8 its loud but in my opinion nowhere what it shoud be. As if anyone would need full volume to get it loud.

On my old stero amp the same volume would be at about 55 out of 100 on the dial.

So is there a way of resetting or adjusting the the volume on one of these amps.

Even if I use its preouts to my old amp the signal is low so that to get any reasonable volume I have to have its near full volume to get some decent sound and I've never had the volume on it that high before. I don't think it's doing either amp any good running at such high settings.

    Hope someone can help,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Is this problem with a source component that has good line level output? CD player, or DVD player?
Not trying a phono deck are we?
    NAD's need Turntable pre amps.

Check all ins and outs on the amp (main in - pre out links).
Check all channel levels on amp.

    If its fixed.....

    Crack open a Hann Ice......

If it still fails to work......

    Neck all 24 of em...
    :zonked:

    And call or email NAD.
