HI there I am new to this forum so please bare with me. I purchased the bose
acoustimass gs series for 80$ Canadian online in my area. My question is i have a receiver/amp that does not have a hdmi input either only optical out and analog. I want to setup it up to the bose sub and speakers via optical or rca cord to my receiver because I want to be able to control the bass and treble and sound effect because it's lacking at the moment . It has no bass knob on the back either and I can't seem to do it through the remote 41XcGhOnrdL._SY300_.jpg . The bose unit is the older model that does not have a optical out on the sensor, all it has is rca red and white cord. As of now the Bose is currently running straight into the rca input on the back of my tv with my apple TV plugged into the hdmi and the bass and sound needs to be tweaked. Please help. Thanks for listening.

Will a analog to digital work? If I run the rca from bose to the converter out to amp/receiver? Will I be able to control bass treble sound from it?

Bose have their own way of doing things so I don't think you will have any luck trying to tweak the bass and treble. I take it the amplification is built into the Bose unit?

What are you using the Bose system with? What sources of audio?

Just so I understand correctly, you are running the TV and Apple TV into the Bose system? You won't be able to use Bose with another receiver as you will have 2 power amps (the receiver and the one in the Bose).

To be honest, Bose systems are not great so you would be better off buying a pair of second hand bookshelf speakers and using your receiver. Or you could buy a sound bar with a HDMI and optical input which would give you good results compared to just a TV.
