    I have been trying to get an iPod Shuffle connected to my PC but i just dont think it is being recognised, or something is wrong? I have the latest version of iTunes installed and when i connect the shuffle i get the following message;

    "The iPod "Offline" cannot be used with iTunes because it was not formatted properly"

    "To format this iPod so that it can be used with iTunes, go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click restore"

    I click okay and it goes directly into the iPod summary tab, i then click Restore - that is the only button that it allows me to click. It then goesd through a retore routine and tells mt that it has been restored and rebooted. When that has done i get the above message again. Can someone please help :lease:

    My pc is runing Windows XP and this does not recognise it as a flash drive etc??

    Same happened to me after I ordered one for my wife. I tried everything until I found out Apples is aware of this problem.
    Go the Apple support page and search for the iPod reset tool.
    This is a Windows stand-alone tool and the reqired steps are well documented.
    It will do more then just the iTunes reset.

    My wife's shuffle is working great since then.
