Help with HD

    Hi Im new here so not sure if this is the right bit of the forum but here goes. I tried to watch a recorded hd tv programme this am (on a dvd) but get the message resolution not supported ! I am running a philips dts 3115 home cinema system into a tosh 40" lcd, forget the model no but its hd ready anyway. I don't know if its a problem with the dvd or the tv. Any help appreciated, sorry just read this and i'll be surprised if anybody can make sense of it :suicide:

    I'm going to guess that the HDTV recording that you were watching was higher resolution than PAL (576) or NTSC (480) and hence why it did not work.

    Do you know what format the HDTV was recored in and the resolution?

    Your dvd player is not a HD dvd player......it is only an upscaling player. I know because I have the same model. Therefore it does not support the resolution of the file.
