    Hi

Ive just had a Sky install.

I have a cable going to the spare room with no box as yet.
I figured all I wanted was the free to view sat channels, plus theres no terrestrial aerial in there so sat's my easiest way to bedroom telly.

The thing is which box should I buy?
Im a bit confused looking at all the chipped stuff on ebay.
All I want is a boggo box to watch telly on, I dont want a 7 day EPG or PVR or whatever.

I have a spare sky card from a friend, am I right in assuming this will allow me to access free stuff on any sky box?

And please help with the exotic gear on ebay.
Technomate seem popular, but do I need a motorised dish to access all the other sats?
    What does CAM mean?

Honest this isnt a wind up.
    I really am that clueless.

    Cheers

    d

Buy a cheap second hand SKY digibox, use your friends spare card or buy an actual £20 freesat card from SKY. The card is need since ITV, CH4 and Five are encrypted but are not subscription channels.
That is the cheapest way to get "free" UK telly via satellite.

Details of the freesat smartcard and channel lineup here.
