why would you want to do that? if its to get tv programmes on the projector the cheapest way is connect your vcr to it or directly run your sky ,cable or freeview box to it,

on some tvs scart 2 or 3 has an option to output so you could try that.

my old toshiba lcd and crt would output via scart 2 and had multiple options what you could output

How would you connect your freeview through it if the freeview is built into the tele.

I will try going through the scart when i get an adapter.

in the scart options menu you get multiple options of what to output. you can either output another scart input, analoge tv, freeview tv or whatever your current tv is displaying

if you let us know what tv you have we might be able to help out more

Even if his TV has freeview output on scart 2 wouldnt that mean that the tv would have to be switched on to change channels.

On my panasonic you can record from the built in Freeview by plugging the vcr to scart 1 or two, what ever you set it to in the menu. The box will change channels when timer events are set but otherwise it will not change channels unless the tv is switched on.

You may as well buy an external freeview box.
