Guys,

I'm looking to buy my first camcorder.

The short list so far is:
Canon MV600i - £410 and has a 18x opical zoom

Sony DCRTRV33 - £580 and has 16x9

JVC GRDV700 - £580 Has F1.2 lens and 1.3 Mega Pixel CCD
The JVC GRDV4000 seams to have very similar spec but is £150 more. Can anyone tell me why?

Panasonic NVGS70B - £730 and has 3 CCD. Do 3 CCDs make that much difference? Is it worth the extra money?

Any comments, suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,
Too Tall.

I bought the TRV33 recently and I am happy with it

I would go for the sony also, just a personal preference.

However, it is only a one chip machine and in your list of considerations is the Panasonic 3 chip model, which if you can afford, I would go for since a 3 chip model will give much better image quality over a single chip camera. Much richer colour rendition.

You need to look at the things that are important to you though, whats it's use? what will be the best design to hold for you etc. If you don't like lugging around a larger camera then get a smaller handicam one. Those sorts of things are equally important, if not more so.
