I'm in the process of using DVD Shrink to rip my dvd's then Xilisoft ipod video converter to change them to mp4.

I've ripped the Simpsons Movie and the largest vob file is 3.4 million kb, (I have selected it not to split into 1gb chunks)

When I open the 3.4 gb vob file in Xilisoft, it says in the duration column 10 minutes. Surely a 3.4 gb file is the entire movie? (83mins)

Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

I'd leave it so that it does split the vob (either way it should'nt make any difference because xilisoft changes the vob to one mp4....).

    My process would be:

    1) Open Shrink & Re-Author main movie only - no compression/back-up to hard drive.
    2) xilisoft open DVD files.
    3) Select the Ipod profile and change video bit rate to 1500 and audio bitrate to 160
    4) Split in xilisoft If Im correct should be left to infinate.
    5) Rip (Red icon)

I'd guess the final .mp4 would be around 800mb

Start to End takes approx 40min

I've downloaded DVDfab and it seems great.

One thing is though, how do I convert the video into a full screen 4:3 or 16:9 format rather than letterbox format which makes it very small on the screen?
